Einsatz von Schalkes Neustädter gegen Bayer scheint möglich

Gelsenkirchen. Es sieht gut aus für Roman Neustädter: Der defensive Mittelfeldspieler des FC Schalke 04 wird nach einem Tritt gegen das rechte Knie gegen Bayer Leverkusen offenbar mitwirken können, wie Mannschaftskollege Sead Kolasinac annimmt. Julian Draxler und Christian Fuchs trainierten mit der Mannschaft.

Der geneigte Schalke-Fan dürfte am Mittwochmorgen beim Training der Königsblauen vieles gesehen haben, was ihm gefällt: Nationalspieler Julian Draxler und Christian Fuchs trainierten mit der Mannschaft, und auch Roman Neustädter, der beim 2:0-Heimsieg am vergangenen Sonntag über Hannover 96 einen schweren Schlag aufs Knie bekommen hatte, stand auf dem Platz: Der defensive Mittelfeldmann absolvierte ein individuelles Programm, sein Einsatz am kommenden Samstag (18.30 Uhr/ live in unserem Ticker) scheint möglich.

Das glaubt zumindest Mannschaftskollege Sead Kolasinac, der gegen Hannover als stürmischer Linksverteidiger brillierte: "Ich glaube, dass Roman gegen Leverkusen wieder dabei ist." Schaden würde des dem jüngst so mitreißenden Schalker Spiel sicher nicht, im Gegenteil: Neustädter wirkt neben dem kreativen Kopf Kevin-Prince Boateng als Stabilisator vor der Abwehrreihe.

Unabhängig vom anstehenden Spitzenspiel sagt Kolasinac aber auch: "Wir schauen nur auf uns, nicht auf Leverkusen. Sie sind richtig stark, das zeigt Platz zwei. Aber wir sind stark genug, um sie zu schlagen." Wann Julian Draxler wieder ins Spielgeschehen eingreifen wird, konnte der 20-jährige gebürtige Karlsruher nicht prognostizieren. Kolasinac: "Jeder weiß, wie wichtig Julian ist, aber vielleicht fehlen ihm noch ein paar Einheiten."

Schalke nimmt auch die Hürde Hannover

Vorzeitiger Trainingsabbruch kein Grund zur Sorge

Dass Draxler, Neustädter und auch Boateng das Training vorzeitig beendeten, darf als reine Vorsichtsmaßnahme gewertet werden. Auch der wiedererstarkte Chinedu Obasi brach die Übungseinheit ab, ohne aber Anlass zur Sorge zu geben. "Der Oberschenkel ist ein bisschen fest", ließ der 27-jährige Offensivspieler wissen.
