Dortmund. Den BVB schmerzt das Remis nach 4:0-Führung gegen Schalke immens. Der Trainer bleibt vorerst im Amt – aber Watzke erhöht den Druck. Eine Analyse.

In die Stille hinein erhob sich Hans-Joachim Watzke von seinem Platz auf der Bühne. Nun war er an der Reihe, nun sollte er erklären, was sich seit Wochen mehr und mehr als unerklärlich entpuppt. Und als er sich aus seinem Sakko schälte wie ein Boxer aus seinem Mantel, wenn er den Ring betreten hat, da schien er sich zu wappnen für einen großen Kampf. Doch das Motiv, das der Geschäftsführer von Borussia Dortmund für seine Rede bei der Jahreshauptversammlung am Sonntagvormittag wählte, war eher Einung der schwarz-gelben Seelen. „Ich“, sagte der 58-Jährige, „habe mich gestern genau so besch...en gefühlt wie ihr alle“, sagte er vor anfänglich etwas mehr als 1000 anwesenden Mitgliedern.

Einzigartiger Derby-Tag

Als er endete, begleitete ihn netter Applaus. So viel Wohlwollen war nicht jedem beschieden am Tag nach einem denkwürdigen, vielleicht einzigartigen Derby-Tag.

Neben zaghaftem Applaus wurden Trainer Peter Bosz und seine Mannschaft vornehmlich mit Pfiffen und sogar Buh-Rufen begrüßt, weil sie im großen Duell mit dem Reviernachbarn Schalke 04 eine unglaubliche 4:0-Führung durch Treffer von Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, ein Eigentor von Bejamin Stambouli, Mario Götze und Raphael Guerreiro auf noch unglaublichere Weise in der zweiten Halbzeit noch verspielt hatte. „Wir sind fassungslos und müssen das jetzt erst einmal richtig einordnen“, hatte Sportdirektor Michael Zorc unmittelbar nach dem Spiel gesagt. Es klang, als werde auch darüber nachgedacht, ob es mit dem Trainer so weitergehen könne.

Nur ein Sieg aus den vergangenen zehn Pflichtspielen lautet aktuell die sorgenvolle BVB-Bilanz. Das Derby würde über des Trainers Schicksal entscheiden – so hieß es. Und es lieferte in absurder Dichte das Für und Wider in dieser Personalie im Laufe der bisherigen Saison: rauschhaftes Offensivspektakel zu Beginn, dann völliger defensiver Einbruch. Fakt aber ist nun: Bosz bleibt. Nur für wie lange?

Leverkusen als nächste Chance

Eine Watzke-Einlassung gibt womöglich Aufschluss. „Irgendwo bei uns funktioniert etwas nicht und ich habe die klare Erwartung an dich, Peter Bosz mit deinem Team, dass ihr in dieser Woche alles auf den Prüfstand stellt, jeden Stein umdreht.“ Fehlersuche unter erhöhter Beobachtung. „Solange wir nicht auf einem Champions-League-Platz stehen, ist nichts gut“, skizzierte Watzke die Kulisse für die kommenden Spiele. Gegen Leverkusen am kommenden Samstag muss also Besserung zu erkennen sein, sonst ... sonst ... ja was eigentlich?

Der BVB hat – so er denn zu dem Entschluss gelangte, dass es mit Peter Bosz nicht weitergehen kann – das Problem, dass es gerade keinen neuen Mann auf dem Markt gibt, der geeignet erscheint. Weiter also erst einmal mit Bosz. Aber nicht aus der Not heraus. Der Trainer sei „überhaupt kein Thema“ gewesen, „von daher gab es auch keinen Beschluss zu treffen“, sagte Watzke gegenüber dieser Redaktion. Der BVB-Boss setzt öffentlich auf Ruhe und Besonnenheit. Eine Haltung, mit der sich Schwarz-Gelb in den vergangenen Jahren aus so manch prekärer Situation befreit hat, wie Watzke erinnerte. Tabellenletzter sei man vor ziemlich genau drei Jahren gewesen. Am Ende sei doch noch das europäische Geschäft herausgesprungen. Und wenn zudem die Analyse des Trainers nun ergäbe, dass neue Spieler im Winter dringend zu verpflichten wären, „dann haben wir die Möglichkeiten dazu“, so Watzke weiter.

Der Versuch, Zuversicht zu verbreiten

Es war sein Versuch, so etwas wie Zuversicht zu verbreiten in einer Zeit, in der sich kleine und große Gräben auftun. Zwischen Fans und Spielern zum Beispiel. Ein Teil der aufgebrachten Meute wollte nach dem Schlusspfiff sogar den Platz stürmen. Die Spieler standen mit ausdruckslosen ­Gesichtern vor der Tribüne und ertrugen den Zorn der Masse. Dieser bizarre Ritt bis ans jeweilige Ende fußballerischer Gefühlswelten hatte zusammen mit den Geschehnissen in den Wochen zuvor alle schwer mitgenommen.

„ Man fühlt im Körper nur Enttäuschung. Es ist schwer, das zu verkraften“, sagte Bosz. Kapitän Marcel Schmelzer meinte, es sei „jetzt auch an der Zeit, Klartext zu sprechen über einige Aktionen“. Es gehört nicht viel Fantasie dazu, zu vermuten, dass er auch die gelb-rote Karte meinte, die sich Aubameyang beim Stande von 4:2 etwas übermotiviert einhandelte. „So etwas darf nicht passieren“, tadelte Bosz. „Er wollte zeigen, dass er wieder komplett bei uns ist“, sagt Watzke schützend.

Nachdenklicher Präsident

Zur Wahrheit beim BVB gehört auch, dass offenbar gerade ein Bewusstsein dafür wächst, wie wenig selbstverständlich es ist, dass sich die Katastrophen-Saison unter Klopp in der Saison 2014/15 nicht wiederholt. „Wir dürfen in der Tabelle nicht nur nach oben schauen, sondern auch nach unten“, sagte Präsident Reinhard Rauball bei der Versammlung: „Es gibt die Gefahr einer Abrutschbewegung.“
